why we return.
Updated: Jan 10, 2020
anyone else ever find themselves being drawn to go back to places that have some weight attached to them? whether that means it’s associated with a loss, some trauma, or just some big shifts in life surrounding this specific place or location?⠀
⠀ i feel like there can be something really meaningful found in the returning and observing how we feel differently, the same, nothing, or maybe a lot. just in that it’s sort of a way to feel out growth and healing in a way that may feel more difficult to assess in the day to day.⠀ ⠀ grateful for some time spent doing just that this past weekend in holding a little of this discomfort, observing and processing. ⠀
⠀ then from the wise words of yung pueblo:⠀ ⠀
when we disconnect ⠀
from our pain⠀
we stop growing⠀
when we are dominated by our pain
we stop growing freedom is observing our pain
letting it go⠀
and moving forward⠀
(middle path).⠀
here’s to continually giving ourselves some time and space + the grace necessary to continue releasing things that feel—or once felt—heavy to us.
